In a battle, the Muslims captured Tsumamah bin Uthal, a warlord of the Mushrikeen, in whose hands many Muslims were killed. Many of the Companions wanted to enforce the Qishas law to Tsumamah, but the desire of the Prophet Saw that Tsumamah get hidayah far greater than just take revenge.

What did the Prophet do to Tsumamah? Apparently Rasulullah chose to imprison Tsumamah in the Mosque of Nabawi. The Tsumamah is tied at the stake of the Mosque and is released at a certain time such as when they are about to relieve themselves. The Prophet's mission to choose the Nabawi Mosque as a prison for Tsumamah is that the prison can rehabilitate Tsumamah's mentality, removing it from darkness to light, from kufr to faith, and from apostasy to guidance. In order for Tsumamah to hear the Companions reading the Qur'an, to see the Muslims living in a fraternal life, to see the Companions of the congregational prayers following the Prophet so that it would subdue the lust that is in Tsumamah's soul and accentuate his heart and mind.

The first day of his imprisonment, Tsumamah was asked by the Prophet about his willingness to embrace Islam. Tsumamah's reply: "O Muhammad, if you want to kill me, then you have killed someone who owes you the blood If you want to release me, then you have released someone who will not forget to thank you, and if You want to ask for a ransom of property, then please ask whatever you want. "

Rasulullah Saw did not care about the offer Tsumamah, because he is not the figure of vengeance. Rasulullah also not crazy praise and possessions. Desire of the Prophet Saw only one, that is so that he is able to invite as many people embraced Islam. Rasulullah still imprison Tsumamah in the hope that tomorrow he will change his mind.

On the second day, Tsumamah's answer is still the same. He remained adamantly unwilling to accept the Prophet's offer to embrace Islam and be prepared for all the risks. But the Messenger of Allah saw Tsumamah's heart was already filled with light. He can not deny the light hidayah continuously stuck into his heart through morality and worship of the Muslims in the Mosque of Nabawi. Rasulullah hope Tsumamah will change his mind on the third day.

But it turns out, on the third day when Rasulullah Saw met Tsumamah, he was still adamant in principle and still did not want to convert to Islam. So Rasulullah Saw said: "Let him go." It made the Companions amazed and wondered about the attitude and decision of Rasulullah.

SHORTLY AFTER...

The atmosphere of the Nabawi Mosque is silent, the Companions were so shocked, Tsumamah turned back to Nabawi Mosque after first cleaning the body and clothing around Baqi's burial site. He returned to meet the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), stretching out his hand saying:

اشهد ان لا اله الا الله واشهد ان محمدا رسول الله

Tsumamah then explained that since the first day of the Prophet's Mosque he could no longer stem the desire to convert to Islam immediately. He was amazed at the morals and attitudes of the Muslims in the Nabawi Mosque. Chant of the Qur'an, Zikr and shalawat so melted his heart. But as a former warlord he did not want to convert to Islam in the condition of his hands and feet tied. He wants to embrace Islam in a state that is not forced.

Tsumamah then held his chest and prayed by the Prophet. After the Prophet raised his hand, Tsumamah issued three memorable phrases in Islamic history ,,,

  1. It used to be not the most face I hate but the face of Muhammad, but now there is no face I love the most besides his face Muhammad Saw.
  2. There used to be no religion that I hate most but Islam, and now there is no religion that I love most but Islam.
  3. There used to be no place I hate most than Medina, but now there is no place I love the most besides Madina.
