In my opinion Ethereum will overrise Bitcoin due to its technological lead. Sure there will ever be a crypto with better technologies, but Ether has nowadays a solid place in the market and has already made a name out of itself.
Good technologie and widely known seems like a good foundation to overtake Bitcoin
