What Do These Trends Indicate?

While we have all seen today's tumultuous day of cryptocurrency price fluctuations within the markets, perhaps we have not examined fully the trends intercoin. We all know that both Bitcoin and Ethereum had tumbled significantly in price. I am more interested in looking for some indication of why among so many coins, we find such a stark similarity. Am I missing something?
