The $750,000 Genovation GXE is an Awesome Electric Corvette C7, is it worth it?
Technology seems to be improving for electrical cars, though the sticker prices are a tad North of current economic times and peoples wallets. I am sure there will be the Jay Leno's of the world possibly buying and holding these to appreciate in the future, but are they an everyday car, or better yet, is 130 mile range worth the $750,000? At this price point, Tesla looks to be super inexpensive, also with the new Tesla roadster coming out with much higher mileage range. Electric cars have long way to go, even with Tesla 3's with options exceeding $40,000. Once we start to see range of 250 miles or more get in the $30,000 and less, Electric cars may take off.
Please share your thoughts and opinions based on the Corvette and the EV market overall. Commodities are up this year and we may see some gas price hikes, but in the interim, Prius would be my choice price wise and bang for buck for now. They can also be modified to go up to 100 mpg, but Elon and others are working to get the mile range past400 miles and more, which in the future will make the electric cars that more attractive!
Based on the super cool Corvette C7, the Genovation GXE was designed to be the world’s fastest street-legal all-electric vehicle, with official specs teasing us with heart-stopping top speeds of 205.6 mph (331 km/h).
If all that sounds exciting, please note that the company based in Rockville, Maryland, is now accepting pre-orders for the C7-inspired EV, sans the noise and American grunt of the Corvette, of course. But Genovation’s GXE looks equally cool, and it benefits from 660 hp and 600 lb-ft (813 Nm) of torque, thanks to a state-of-the-art battery management system, inverters, more batteries, and electric motors.
With a range of only 130 miles (209 km) at normal speeds and relatively normal operating conditions, things might look a bit disappointing at first glance, but we’re sure you’ll feel amazing behind the wheel.
