I'm going to try to challenge myself, and this is the very first one. I am going to try to write 100 Poems in 30 days (essentially, I'm trying to pay for a Birthday Gift for my wife and this is how I want to pay for it). Anyway 100 Poems in 30 Days... should be something to see. I just hope I can come through with good poetry that people enjoy.
Here you can see 70 of 100.
Now to the 71st in this series... let's make some money so I can buy her an even better gift!!
A Stoned Sword
A shining lance of flame,
pure as crystal waters,
shoots up and out of the atmosphere...
A changeling power of the Gods,
bright as the luminous sun...
Rippled dreams colliding
in a slanted reality;
but there it rested,
snug upon the shores of majestic pride.
'Tis naught beside the Hero's Game,
the risk of Eden's Fodder
raging against the Bandit's cheer...
Mesmerizing evil of the Underworld prods
action 'til the daylight's done...
Seamless fantasies riding
roughshod over the stained fealty
that time and war-ravaged conquerors have bested...
Tradition dictates the methods and madness in His stride.
Merlin's young disciple now shall claim,
even against Brittain's worst marauders
the little King shall soon become the one to fear...
Here we shall hear while Fates applauds
more powerful even than Attila the Hun...
Now the Wizard's Hand is guiding
Young Arthur through another boyhood malody;
but while Brittain's Blood is quite infested,
Justice shall become a virgin's bride.

Thank you so much. While I have used a handful that were written several years ago and just found again, I would say 85% were written on-the-fly. I would love to be to say you just need to practice, but to do that many (even the 50+ that were on-the-fly) and not have really big drop-offs of quality, it takes someone with talent in the area. While I never thought I was that good growing up, I have come to accept that I am better than most.
