How Long Can You Go Without Food?
The longest time a person has gone without food is 21 days. This was accomplished in the 1920s by an American named John C. Lilly, who did it to prove that the human body could survive without food for extended periods.
He used a technique called autogenic training, which involves focusing on your breathing and other bodily functions to keep you from getting hungry or tired.
People can go about five days without water before they start feeling weak and lose their ability to think clearly. After this point, if someone doesn’t drink water daily, they risk dehydration and death from kidney failure or heart failure.
The best way to avoid dehydration is by drinking at least one glass of water each day—even if you don’t feel like it!
