A STRONG MAN'S HOUSE

“No one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. And then he
will plunder his house.”
Mark 3:27 (NKJV)

READ: Mark 3:20–27

In this verse, Jesus was talking about whatever demon is behind a problem or predicament. If you want the problem to be solved, the strong man—that is, the demon assigned to monitor or supervise the case—would have to be dealt with before you can set the captive free.

Whoever is being oppressed through a demonic power would only be free when the power behind the problem is dealt with and dislodged.

This also is applicable to an area, community, town, city, or nation. When you are assigned or sent to work somewhere, you would have to pray and undo the works of the powers of darkness in the area, so that the people you are assigned to reach might be receptive to the words you preach and teach (2 Corinthians 4:4). Prayer should be an integral part of whatever work you want to do for God.

Remember, satan would not fold his hands and watch you destroying
his works. However, the Scripture says the captives of the mighty shall be delivered:
“BUT THUS SAYS THE LORD: ‘EVEN THE CAPTIVES OF THE MIGHTY SHALL BE TAKEN AWAY, AND THE PREY OF THE TERRIBLE BE DELIVERED; FOR I WILL CONTEND WITH HIM WHO CONTENDS WITH YOU, AND I WILL SAVE YOUR CHILDREN’” (Isaiah 49:25 NKJV).

“THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD GOD IS UPON ME, BECAUSE THE LORD HAS ANOINTED ME TO PREACH GOOD
TIDINGS TO THE POOR; HE HAS SENT ME TO HEAL THE BROKENHEARTED, TO PROCLAIM LIBERTY TO THE CAPTIVES, AND THE OPENING OF THE PRISON TO THOSE WHO ARE BOUND.”
Isaiah 61:1 (NKJV)

Believers are given authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, which means believers are to take authority over the powers of darkness (Luke 10:19). If you lack the understanding of your place in God’s kingdom, or you do not know your rights as a believer in Christ Jesus, the devil would want to take advantage of you (Hosea 4:6).

There is power in Jesus’ name (Philippians 2:9,10). Through the name of Jesus, you are to command and order the devil to release his hold on whatever belongs to you or your loved ones (Matthew 16:19; 18:18).

The devil and his demons are not to be feared; you have been given power and authority to rule over them through Christ Jesus’ name (Luke 10:19). Jesus has defeated satan and his cohorts and made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them (Colossians 2:15).

Thus, if you are having any challenge being monitored or supervised by any demon, take authority over the demon(s) and tell him to release his hold now and leave, in Jesus’ name:
“THEREFORE SUBMIT TO GOD. RESIST THE DEVIL AND HE WILL FLEE FROM YOU" (James 4:7 NKJV).

Reflect:
• Are you engaging in spiritual warfare through prayer on behalf of the people and places you are called to?
• Is there any area of your life where you have not exercised the authority you have been given in Christ Jesus? Kindly do so.

Peace.
