FLATTERY 3
"A MAN WHO FLATTERS HIS NEIGHBOUR SPREADS A NET FOR HIS FEET."
Proverbs 29:5 (NKJV)
• Some people, including believers, would only help or assist the people who can blow the trumpet about their good deeds (Matthew 6:2-4).
- They would not want to do anything that would not be sounded or publicized. If you want to help anyone, put your camera away. Stop putting or uploading on social media your good deeds that you might receive the praise of men—humans.
- If all you wanted is worship and accolades, because of what you have done for others, I am disturbed or alarmed, you might not last. Those who did such a thing in the Bible, died prematurely. They died before their time:
21 THE APPOINTED DAY CAME. HEROD WAS SEATED ON HIS THRONE. HE WAS WEARING HIS ROYAL ROBES. HE MADE A SPEECH TO THE PEOPLE. 22 THEN THEY SHOUTED, “THIS IS THE VOICE OF A god. IT'S NOT THE VOICE OF A MAN.” 23 RIGHT AWAY AN ANGEL OF THE LORD STRUCK HEROD DOWN. HEROD HAD NOT GIVEN PRAISE TO GOD. SO HE WAS EATEN BY WORMS AND DIED" (Acts 12:21–23 New International Reader’s Version).
• Admonition
- Deal with the flesh. Starve the flesh. And do not give any glory to the flesh (Romans 8:13; Galatians 5:24; Colossians 3:5).
- Let God be your focus in whatever you do, and the praise of your success should be given to Him (1 Corinthians 1:29,31).
- The truth is, a believer who receives the praise of the people, who is being praised by every person, saying, he or she is good; such might not be a practical believer in Christ. If such a person professed to be a believer, they are usually the type of believers who live a compromised life.
- If a believer in Christ Jesus actually lived in line with the Bible principles practically, he or she would not receive the praise or accolade of the people in general. Whoever lives a true godly life in Christ Jesus would be persecuted—be Ill-treated, or be bothered persistently (2 Timothy 3:12).
- If you lived practically the Word of God, you would be hated for it: "AND EVERYONE WILL HATE YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE MINE. BUT ALL WHO ENDURE TO THE END WITHOUT RENOUNCING ME SHALL BE SAVED" (Mark 13:13 the Living Bible).
READ: Matthew 10:22; Luke 21:17; John 15:18-21 - Be sincere with yourself, do not allow someone to praise you insincerely. Insincere praise or flattering would set a trap for you, It would lead you to destruction.
- Be willing to be corrected or be rebuked without being offended, that you might last in the assignment given to you by God (Hebrews 12:5-7).
- When you do not have anyone who can reproof, or rebuke, you or tell you the truth about the wrong things you are doing; It means you are heading towards destruction.
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
- Whatever is contrary to your health is rebuked in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
- That disease and sickness are uprooted in your body, and you begin to live in health from now onwards in Jesus' mighty name.
Peace!
STEPS TO SALVATION
• Take notice of this:
IF you are yet to take the step of salvation, that is, yet to be born-again, do it now, tomorrow might be too late (2 Corinthians 6:1,2; Hebrews 3:7,8,15).
a. Acknowledge that you are a sinner and confess your Sins (1 John 1:9); And ask Jesus Christ to come into your life (Revelation 3:20).
b. Confess that you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that you confess it with your mouth, Thus, you accept Him As your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9,10).
c. As you took the steps A and B your name is written in the Book of Life (Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:8).
