KNOWING GOD AND THE LEARNING OF HIM
"FOR WHATEVER THINGS WERE WRITTEN BEFORE WERE WRITTEN FOR OUR LEARNING, that we through the PATIENCE and COMFORT of the SCRIPTURES MIGHT HAVE HOPE."
Romans 15:4 (NKJV)
• Whoever comes to God through salvation in Christ Jesus would have to learn how to walk with Him. The learning would be throughout the journey of the person's life.
- The believers read and study the Bible mainly to know and understand how to walk with God (Romans 15:4; 1 Corinthians 10:11).
- Someone who professed to be a believer but does not know God through His Word would not have a good relationship and communion with Him.
- How to walk with God is learnt through the knowledge of the Bible. It is when the knowledge is acquired and practiced that you have a good relationship and communion with Him (1 Corinthians 1:11).
- Relationship and communion with God cannot be learnt any other way apart from the knowledge of the Word of God, the Bible.
- Remember, it is not enough to acquire the knowledge of the Bible, you have to practice you know (James 1:22-25).
- It is through the practicing of the Word that God reveals Himself to you—things you have read would become a reality. God would no longer be a distant God. - You would have the witness of His closeness with you and serving God would be practical.
- It would no longer be a religion, but a relationship and fellowship!
It is from this point that you become endeared to Him; you are now His confidant and friend. He would begin to show or reveal His secrets to you (Psalm 25:14; John 15:14).
- When your relationship with God gets to this point, It would cost you many other relationships. Your relationship or affinity with some people would have to be cut off or put to an end. Most, especially those relationships that God knows would jeopardize that of Him and you.
- If the relationship and communion you had with God are kept, it would spiral up and become big. In it, you would discover purpose—His plan or vision—which He has for your life.
- However, because of the fallen nature of human, a believer who started well may later be faltering in his or her relationship with God.
- If that happened, It may slow down what God has had in plan for the person.
• Peradventure there are wobbling and fumbling, falling and rising, as the believer progresses in his or her relationship with God. But if the believer does not outrightly quit or leave God, He would always welcome them back whenever they strayed from Him—God.
- Many started well in their journey with God but they ended badly. When they missed it, they find it difficult to retrace their steps back to God. They could not come back to meet with Him at the point where they left Him.
- God never leaves anyone, He does not forsake. If you and God are walking and the relationship is strained, God is not the One at fault. You are the one who left Him, God did not and will not.
- If you had been walking with God and It seems you are no longer doing that; you are the cause of the strain, you must have done something wrong or go against the instruction or principle given to you.
- God is a disciplinarian. If you are a believer who does not like discipline or being reproved, you may find walking with God uninteresting (Hebrews 12:5-8).
- God would not overlook or sweep under the carpet whatever He ought to correct in your life. Someone said God is a perfectionist, and I want to agree or concur with that.
- If you hate corrections or reproofs, your walking with God might not be smooth and pleasurable. He is a disciplinarian!
• I do not know the level you are right now in your relationship and fellowship with God, but I know If you can be serious in your walk with Him again; He would welcome you back. He will lead you to where He had earlier planned or intended to take you (Luke 15:11-24).
- Endeavour to discipline yourself and deal with those character defects which God has been calling your attention to correct in your life. Be straightened up and move on with God:
15 BUT AS HE WHO CALLED YOU IS HOLY, YOU ALSO BE HOLY IN ALL YOUR CONDUCT, 16 BECAUSE IT IS WRITTEN, “BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY” " (1 Peter 1:15,16 NKJV).
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
- Whatever is not of God in your system that is working against your health and wellness is cursed and completely uprooted in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
- The hold is totally broken and will never rise or be formed again in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Peace!
