"WHO HAS SAVED US AND CALLED US WITH A HOLY CALLING, NOT ACCORDING TO OUR WORKS, BUT ACCORDING TO HIS OWN PURPOSE AND GRACE which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began."
2 Timothy 1:9 (NKJV)

It is not about the glory or the glamour of the work you do in God's Kingdom on earth, but about the purpose, the reason, why the work is being done.

Note: endeavour to sincerely answer these questions privately in your heart:
• Did God command you to do what you are doing?
• Are you led by the Holy Spirit to do it? (Romans 8:14).
• What are the motives behind the doing of the work?

What you are doing might be helpful, encouraging and beneficial, to others, but If it was not commanded or instructed or led by the Holy Spirit to be done; It is still not welcomed or accepted by God—such is not right in His sight.
Such would be considered a product of fleshly motivation.

A need is not a call!
There might be a need to help or teach or reach out to help a group of people, but If you are not led to do it by the Holy Spirit; It would still not be rewarded. God would not accept it or support it!
Thus, It is not enough to see a need and move in to be used to meet the need. Whatever need in terms of service or ministering to others; it has to be commanded or instructed by God through the Holy Spirit.
Love—empathy or feeling for a thing to be done—is not the enough reason for you to move and do whatever for God. In other words, you cannot just claim that you are doing something in the name of the Lord, when you are not sure whether He asks you to do it.
Whatever it is, it would still not be acceptable to God if what you are doing was not commanded by Him—no matter how good and beneficial it is to mankind!
Being enthusiastic or emotional about a particular thing is not the most important sign that you need as a conviction concerning the mission or assignment you are embarking upon.
The leading has to be by the stirring or motivation of the Holy Spirit on the inside of you (Romans 8:14).

Note:
• Being spiritual or being submissive to the leadings of the Holy Spirit does not mean that your will, mind, and emotion would be completely abandoned.
However, it thus mean your soul—will, mind and emotion—will be subjected to the Use of the Holy Spirit.
Instead of these functionalities of the soul or mind be in the control of leading your life; they rather would be instruments being used by the Holy Spirit to effect or carry out the plan or Will of God. Not the Will of the self any longer!
Being led by the spirit does not mean your human nature or soul and the body would stop existing, No. They surely would still be there, but they would no longer be the ones dictating or directing the affairs of your life. They would no longer be the ones leading but rather by the Holy Spirit through your inward man—the newly recreated human spirit.

So when we talk about being led by the Holy Spirit, and being ascertain of what you are to do for God; It does not mean that something strange would come out of the blues or desperation to speak to you.
God communicates through His regular ways of communication. God would still use your mind in passing a message across to you, and He would still use your vocal cord to prophesy if there is any need to pass a message across through you to others.
In one of our teachings, we have taught about God taking over your mind or thought, your Will and your emotion. It does not mean these functional parts of your soul would be cut off and be removed, but It does mean they would be taken over by the Holy Spirit for the use of God. Instead of being controlled and used by the flesh, the human nature, and for carnal or fleshly reasons; they would be used by God as He pleases.

Back to our point, the emphasis is, whatever you claim to be doing for God should be what He commanded or instructed you to do.
Whatever is not commanded or instructed by God to be done is born out of the fleshly desire. Such would not be accepted by God nor backed up by Him with resources or whatever.
Then, being led by God should not be a complicated issue which every believer would not be able to get or decipher or comprehend. Every believer should be able to know how they are being led by God because that is the delight of God (Romans 8:14).
If you are His sheep you should be able to hear His voice when He speaks (John 10:3-5). If you did hear God's voice as a believer in Christ Jesus, you should be able to differentiate it from that of the stranger because you are conversant with the voice of the Master, Jesus Christ, through the Holy Spirit (John 10:5).
God's voice through the Holy Spirit on the inside of you should be able to guide you and lead you through; in whatever you do believe God is asking you to do (Romans 8:14).

Then, the admonition; it is not the work you do or claim to be doing for God per se, but:
• Are you sure that what you are doing was commanded by God?
In other words, are you sure you are commanded by God to do what you claim to be doing for Him?
Your answer to the question above should determine whether you should forge ahead and proceed or withdraw and make a U-turn in whatever you are currently doing in the Kingdom.

You will not fail in Jesus' name.
• Whatever is not of God in your body that is working against your wellness or health is cursed and totally uprooted in Jesus' name.
• Whatever form of sickness or disease is put to an end in Jesus' name.
Peace!
