Dear Diary: It's My Sister's Birthday Tomorrow

I thought that my sister would celebrate her birthday on Thursday but today was the 30th of May which is the date of her birth. We do not usually celebrate our birthdays and usually my mother would only sweetly greet me and then she would prepare a stir-fried noodles for me for us to eat with me and my siblings when we were just kids.

It was not really on my mother's budget to spend on miscellaneous things like a birthday since our money was just enough for our daily needs when we were all going to school with my siblings.

But there is an instance that my father sent from abroad a couple of whole fried (or roasted) chicken which is inside a paper bag. It was my first time to see a whole chicken like that and that was memorable. Then there was this cake sent and delivered to us as well for my eldest brother which my mother at first set it atop of our refrigerator then as my bother went to open the ref the cake fell down up side down but still in the box.

The cake got ruined and my bother took a lot of scolding from that. It was okay still for me because I wanted just to eat the cake and the ice cream that went with it. A month later its my other brother's turn to get his own cake. I as for me I think my first cake was given by my sister-in-law and after that in my family when someone has a birthday it was my sister in law who gives us cake to celebrate with.

Tomorrow I think that my brothers and sister in-laws and nieces and nephews will just come home here so that we could gather to eat and celebrate my sister's birthday. I reckon that we had gotten old already and it is just a memory now that we were at this house when we are just kids playing with each other.

It is good to know that my sister is healthy, that is invaluable because she has still small kids to take care of and a good future for her career as a teacher which I know made my parents proud of her.
