Dear Diary: A Story Of Forced Adoption In Canada
source
This is just a story of one among the hundreds of thousands of mothers that got victimized by Canada's forced adoption from unwed mothers which were forced to give up their babies to get adopted by traditional families. Hanne Anderson was only 15 years of age when she gave birth to her daughter in one of the 60 church-run homes in Canada. She was told to forget about her child, to get married and have another child/children and meanwhile they told her to get a puppy instead to cuddle.
What was also unforgiving was the fact that she was isolated from her own family too. Her parents are somewhat threatened that if they won't cooperate with the government they will get deported as they are immigrants from Europe.
Mothers that gave birth to their babies are denied of even seeing their babies much less holding and feeding them. Some didn't even get the chance to know if their child was a boy or a girl because they were told that it is none of their business.
Hanne Andersen had the chance to hold her baby but she was drugged until she passed-out. She thought that she will never see her daughter again but after 23 years her daughter found her. They started to talk for months to establish relationship, getting to know each other, and trust, etc. She also learned that the church run homes told her daughter that her mother was a prostitute and a drug addict.
a reflective story. When a child is separated from a parent's arms it is all grievous. Parents lose children can be depressed and end up in despair. Similarly, the child will lose the guard and love of the biological parents. so we are still fortunate not to be separated from the parents and feel their affection.
Make me missed my mother who far away in hometown..
Una historia la cual es increible como hay personas que aparte de separar a los hijos de sus padres le inventan historias a los mismos cuando preguntan por ellos es muy lamentable esto que nos cuentas @cryptopie
It's a really cruel thing, children should not be separated from their mothers in that way, if the government wants to help, it could get stable employment for the mothers so they can support their children.
It seems that for the government of Canada and for the church it is a sin for single women to get pregnant. It is very unfair, they could lend support without taking away the babies. I imagine the suffering of the mother and also of her children. I think it is a crime against humanity to do that, the international community could do something about it and go to the international human rights court.
@cryptopie this ia amazing story. Heart touching it is.
These forced adoption cases happen everywhere.
the condition of canada is very well
