The CPS nightmare and their exaggerated idea of protection.

An article I read on the Internet today reminded me a sad incident that happened in august 2006, and that is the death of Marcus Fiesel. Marcus Fiesel was autistic, a special needs kid that was being raised in an abusive environment (according to the claims of the Ohio child welfare services department), and so had to be placed in the foster care of David and Liz Carroll.

Marcus died though, after the Carrolls left him tied up and locked in a closet, while they attended a "family reunion." The poor three-year-old died and his corpse was incinerated in a chimney so as to get rid of any evidence. –You tell me which environment was abusive! Obviously it's very lucid that the foster parents had no iota of love for the child. taped? locked in a closet? incinerated? Though this happened over a decade ago, the impact is still very much felt today, as it was one of the most horrendous crimes ever committed on US soil.

There also the case of Judith Leekin, which New York post tagged as one of the most " disturbing Child abuse case in recent history". Judith was a jobless woman who lived off subsidy payments for the adopted special needs kids in her care, kids that she abused and maltreated.

Authorities say they found the adopted children had been held like prisoners in Leekin's home, often handcuffed together and forced to soil themselves because they were not allowed to use the bathroom. They said they had never seen a doctor or a dentist and had not been allowed to attend school or leave the house. All were near starvation when they were found.

At the time of her incarceration, Judith Leekin was already an owner of two homes and several cars after collecting over $1million in government subsidies. And that she adopted these children under different aliases has a lot to say about the supposed transparent and thorough nature of foster care systems.
It doesn't just stop there, Hundreds of similar cases have also been reported.

And the government keeps fighting to uphold this lie, by assuring the public everything is just fine while at the same time, children die from severe cases of abuse and abandon even in these supposed "safehouses", While the rest of these children that barely survived end up as disturbed or traumatized adults.

This betrays the possibility of people adopting foster kids, – not out of love or human empathy, but for the money that comes from with it. So foster care systems are now money making ventures fully funded by the government, while the kids are the collaterals. And the money given depends on the state of the child adopted, if that child is a special needs child then the money is sure to increase. which was very easy for criminals such as Judith Leekin to spot and exploit.

CPS is the bogeyman here, with all the money, lawyers and professionals, tearing up families apart and putting them in positions susceptible to abuse, or possibly death.

Imagine hiring a wolf to watch a hen house. The worst is that most of these people that abuse kids entertain visits from social workers every month, and still, nothing happens. absolutely nothing! Even when such evildoers are exposed, the persons involved are removed and new people brought in but same evil continues. This clearly shows how rotten and corrupt the system already is.

Children in CPS foster homes now have to pay for these gaffes and failures in the system with their lives.

And the CPS does not listen, no drop of human sympathy, probably because they are more scared of losing their funding than doing the right thing.

CPS is anti-family!, it's never been "for" the family!

The underlying idea behind CPS, which is now evident in their mode of operation is legally kidnapping kids. It doesn't matter if there are much better ways to settle a conflict in a family (Which in most cases, there are), as long as it means more money for them, the CPS wouldn't bat an eyelid at tearing a family apart. – just like a trigger happy maniac wouldn't!

But really, in such situations with the CPS, women face a lot, and this is not some feminist agenda. Picture this; A mom is facing abuse from a man (maybe a husband or a boyfriend), and the best the government can do us to wade in and snatch the child from the mother. But of course, it isn't appropriate for a child to be allowed to thrive in such an unhealthy environment, but how about the well-being of the mother? Or isn't the CPS all about preservation of the family? People have problems, both self induced and not, but it doesn't mean they are bad people, neither does it mean they don't love their kids. And people make mistakes, child welfare services should know this before taking rash decisions.

Family isn't always rosy.

Like some things in life, family isn't always filled with butter and roses. There are challenges and rough times too, and these rough times are the best times to prove strength and unity as a family. but no, not for the CPS. Somehow, they have failed to take this into seriously consideration, or any consideration at all!

Though foster families may try to substitute for real parents, but not when the said parents genuinely love and care for their children. A family is a unit bond by love and blood, and most times such bonds are difficult to replicate. Even in the midst of family challenges, given the right attention and eagerness to compromise and make peace, there's the ever strong tendency to stock together. Regardless of the situation, a family still is the basic unit of society. Blood they say, is thicker than water.

But this is not to say that we don't have good foster homes, but how many are they, really? and on a larger scale, which is better? resolving an issue in a family or taking the children away? scarring them for life, scattering them like dandelion seeds in the wind. enstranging them to their natural family and relatives.

And CPS should remember the purpose of its establishment, it is not some weapon of revenge, something rebellious teenagers can use against their parents or guardians, or jealous neighbors could use to destroy homes, neither is it a business. Its primary aims should be protection of the child, and ensuring continuity and longevity of the family. But failing to do this simple task so far, there really isn't any usefulness to this system.

Protect your families, shut the door against CPS.

I thought CPS protects and help give children better lives than what parent and guidance could offer. Even if sometime what they do is wrong they do for the “greater good” (for the childs protection). But I would say absolute power always finds a way to corrupt.

“protect the family,” stop CPS. NO Family is rosy

Thanks for your contribution Sir

Very important your publication that many people more become aware with this topic and take interest. Greetings from Venezuela, I hope you continue your success and I hope we can continue reading

The family must always be protected at all times.

Thanks you so much Sir.. Glad you're reading.. Followed

Thanks bro... Do you need a bit more enlightenment on the CPS? Or do you know of any child protective services in your area? We could talk about it.. And get to find out what they're up to.. Be a voice to the families who aren't heard.

Why do people even bother adopting a child just to manhandle them? This is really saddening

The money... They give them dividends for every child they adopt... If it's a child with special needs, the money increases.

Foster parents gets payed for taking care of fostered children under their care. And most foster homes are political, somewhat, especially for the money.

Exactly, the CPS no longer serve their purpose, they have instead become a nightmare to families

True that @ponmile... The supposed protector does the greater harm.

your last sentence said it all and i agree with every bit of it. thanks for sharing
