Great Chinese Famine
In 1958, the chairman of the Chinese communist party called upon citizens to destroy sparrows and other wild birds that were eating crop seeds and minimising the produce of the fields. At once, farmers began the killing spree, claiming thousands upon thousands of them. Prizes were issued to those who would kill the most and they were treated as national heroes.
Not long after, however, there was an explosion of the vermin population which such birds used to eat causing national devastation to their harvest and was a key cause behind the “Great Chinese Famine” that lasted up until 1961 and resulted in the death of around 15 million people.
Do not be under the impression that by cutting off someone else’s provisions or tightening them that yours will grow.
Rizq/provisions have already been distributed by Allah and there’s enough to go round. Furthermore, it could very well be that the person whom you’d been providing for was the main reason why Allah was warding off enormous harm from you without you even realising.
The example above involved birds.
What about when those involved are humans?!
