Father's day without you

So Dad, you would think that your girls are all grown up and can cope with what life has to throw at them, but I thought I would let you know that, just as when we were little, we still need your "Fix it shop"

Today, our problems aren't as trivial as a broken doll or a scraped knee.... Today we need advice on business decisions, or how to be a parent, or how to forgive a friend....

Today as we celebrated our first Father's day without you, I realised that this is never going to get any easier. Your sign is still up in your office and most days it puts a smile on my face. I will always remember how you tried to fix all our problems for us. You better be busy in heaven fixing all sorts of things, otherwise I will have a chat to the big boss!

Happy Father's day in Heaven, I hope they served you the biggest lamb roast, with all your favourite sides, just as we would have done. You are missed more than you will ever know.
