DON'T BE AFRAID TO TRY NEW THINGS

When was the last time you did something for the first time? Can you still remember the feeling of disappointment or accomplishment and excitement (even when it was a failure) of trying something new? It's something that you can now say "I've been there and done that".
We pass through life once. We aren't getting any younger each passing year. So whatever you have on the drawing board of your mind, don't be afraid to take action and try it out.
It may be a musical instrument that you wanna learn to play, a song that you wanted to compose, or a business idea that you've been thinking about. Maybe you want to learn a new language or a sport. Don't be afraid to try new things.

DON'T BE AFRAID TO STEP OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE
A comfort zone is a beautiful place but nothing grows there. If you don't try new things, you simply miss out on the greatest opportunities in life. Things that you want and are not getting them are outside of your comfort zone.
It is fulfilling to be adventurous and step out of your comfort zone. The human spirit is fueled by adventure. Trying something new is an adventure that also enhances your experiences and gives meaning to a life of purpose. Say 'yes' to new adventures.
ADDING WEALTH TO THE RICHEST PLACE ON EARTH
What is the richest place on earth? Well, it is not the gold and diamond mines or the oil & gas fields of the Middle East. The richest place on earth is the cemetery. I heard these motivational words from late Dr. Myles Munroe in 2009 when I attended one of his seminars. Rediscovering my potential and not afraid to try new things has transformed my life.
Buried under those tombstones are potential, ideas and thoughts that never went beyond the drawing board of the mind. A musical piece not created, a business that never got off the ground, a product that was not manufactured and talents got buried because people are afraid to try new things.
Don't add to the wealth of the cemetery.

WHY PEOPLE ARE AFRAID OF TRYING NEW THINGS
(1) The fear of failure
The fear of failure is the number one reason why people don't try new things. Failure is your opportunity to grow so expect it and learn from it. Failure is indeed the way to success. One of the greatest sportsman Michael Jordan says "I've failed over and over again in my life, and that is why I succeed". Don't be afraid of failure.
The fear of failure also makes us complacent in life and continue to live in our comfort zones. For example, you are tired of your mundane job and want to start your own business. However, the fear of failure drives you back to your comfort zone of working for someone else. You tell yourself that you are satisfied with your 9 to 5 rat race, but deep within you are yearning for freedom.
(2) The fear of making mistakes
The fear of making mistakes holds us back from being adventurous and grow in our life experiences. Mistakes help us learn and lead us to success. Always have the mindset of a beginner and don't expect perfection. Don't be afraid to learn from those who walked the path before you.
(3) The fear of being wrong
The fear of being wrong hinders us from being creative. Let yourself go freely and express yourself through what you wanna do without being conscious about what others may think or say about you. There is nothing wrong or right in being creative with your imagination.
Be bold, creative & fearless!
It's only you who live your life. No one else lives it for you. Don't let the fear of failure takes its grip on you. Be bold and step out to try new things. You have unlimited potential you can develop through trying things and working at it till you become an expert.
The fears of making mistake and being wrong comes from a lack of confidence in yourself, your potential and your abilities. Once you truly believe in yourself that you can do it, anything is possible.

THE EXPERT WAS ONCE A BEGINNER
Everyone has their humble beginnings. Once you break free from the fear of failure and the fear of trying new things itself, you are truly on your way to becoming an expert in what you wanna do.
Making mistakes and failure is normal. Expect it. Whether you fail or succeed in what you wanna try depends on you. Determination, patience and a "never give up" mindset will reward you with success.
