Two birds built a nest in the palm tree ......

........ and sadly it was not their brightest idea! Because I am absolutely sure they did not that branches in palm trees fall without warning?

As it goes, one afternoon their nest with two little white eggs fell with the branch on the pavers in my front garden. A big sadness filled me when I saw the cracked eggs laying beside the fallen branch and broken nest. If only they had built in the magnolia tree instead.

Questions filled my head. What type of bird built this next. The eggs were too small for a wily way tail! Was it a magpie nest.

I know that it was not a duck:

Or the water hens:


Whatever these birds are, I sincerely hope they never build a nest in a palm tree again. It would have been most distressing to see the branch and their nest gone.
