Ferrari and Digital Token
Ferrari is planning to launch a new digital token for its top customers, with the aim of auctioning off the 499P race car that won the legendary Le Mans race.
.
499P Token holders will be able to trade with each other and participate in exclusive auctions, including the 499P, with the program set to launch in conjunction with the 2027 World Endurance Championship season.
Ferrari has been openly accepting crypto in recent years, starting in 2023 with the launch of Bitcoin, Ethereum and USDC for car purchases in the US, and expanding to Europe last year.
.
But Ferrari’s crypto payment tools don’t require dealers to directly manage cryptocurrencies, instead automatically converting customers’ cryptocurrencies into local currency and sending them directly to their bank accounts.
The Ferrari 499p auction comes at a time when the number of crypto millionaires is on the rise, and it appears to be targeting new millionaires. The number of millionaires has increased by 40% since the crypto bull market, reaching an average of 240,000.
