MY FIRST EXPERIENCE IN BOARDING SCHOOL

My first experience at dinning hall in boarding school is something I won’t forget

It was the first time I was going to experience life outside my parents comfort .

Immediately my parents left as I just turned to walk back to my Cottage Naso I hear one bell ring .

Everyone started coming out running to the dinning…….. and I immediately joined them .

Reaching the dinning hall we all sat down and immediately people started bringing out their cutlery .

I was like ah una dey use cutlery? That’s was when I remembered that i was not at home again .

And it was soup that afternoon…. So I said okay I’ll use my hands

Omo as I just put hand for garri mold first ball…. I dipped it inside soup as I was taking it to my mouth Naso I hear one heavy knock for my head .

It was the dinning prefect …… baba knock me like twice come tell me say mk I run go back dormitory go bring cutlery .

I ran back and I took my cutlery….. as I was running back I saw my classmates coming back .

I asked what happened? Did they pursue you people? .

They said no ...

That they were done eating and dinning hall is locked as it was only 30 minutes for eating .

Naso I stand there with cutlery for hand , front I no go, back I no go .

That evening our dormitory master came and as a baby that I was I rushed to report to him that I did not eat due to what happened .

Guess what he said?

He looked me in eye and said Welcome to boarding school
Na from that day I turn man, I knew I was on my own
I later go sip garri that night .

Na since that day me and garri become best friends.
