We had a woolen tapestry in the castle near my chambers. A history was worn on it - an ordinary story, you'll find it everywhere: the walls of the fortress are besieged by an army of monsters, and they capture a young virgin, either a countess or a princess; the maiden stretches out her arms, begging for salvation, and it seems that she has no hope left, but a noble knight in black armor comes to rescue her on a black horse ... I do not remember who brought this tapestry to my father - I was still too is small.

One day Eric, who was staying with us, saw him and, laughing, said that the virgin is like me.

"Then you would have appeared in black armor and would have become my savior, Lord Eric?" - I asked jokingly, deep in my heart hoping that he would support the game, but Eric was boring.

"Oh, Lady Ornella, I cannot face black robes. I would have ridden under my banners on a white horse and would have killed all the monsters attacking the castle."

After making sure that Lord Erik would rather give the princess to be torn apart than to save her, I changed the subject of the conversation. The food and wine that were going to be served at the banquet, it was much more pleasant to discuss.

Alas, it so happened - did not come out of Eric's knight.

Soon the long-awaited reinforcements were due, so we left a small detachment in the captured castle, and at the will of the gentleman, who did not want to hesitate, moved on and set up the camp only closer to the night. I did not want to see anyone and immediately retired to my room; there I, having got rid of the armor, lay down on a bed, eaten with shame. How could I have been so stupid, so imprudent? Asha, you know one thing, what a shame it was for me to experience today-on his eyes!

We were almost at the very gates of the castle, attacked violently, our warriors were climbing the stairs to the walls, I encouraged the living, running after me, convincing them that there was not much time left, that victory was in our hands, and, wishing to set an example for them, rushed forward on the enemy, holding the sword ready, when suddenly it is not known who knocked me out of the saddle. It is good that I had time, sensing a blow in the side and falling, get rid of the stirrups, otherwise, I'm afraid I would not have tonight.

With difficulty I got up, I looked around - and deep down I was horrified by my mistake. On all sides, I was surrounded by demons! It turned out that in the excitement of the battle, I moved away from the army, without noticing that, and fell into a trap. The teacher was left behind, the soldiers were absorbed in the assault, and hardly anyone had time to notice what had happened to me. All around, wherever you look, I saw only flames, hideous snouts, and bared mouths, and prayed Ashe to accept my soul if I could not handle the enemy. I decided to sell my non-life more expensively and prepared to repulse the last attack.

The descendants of hell seemed to have waited like this - they attacked at once, and suddenly a strange thing happened: the devils that attacked me soared into the air, covered in unnatural light, and disappeared. At the same time a few demons jumped to me, froze, forming around me something like a shield, preventing other hellish creatures to get closer. Not understanding what was happening, I turned around and saw, as if in a fog, a rider in dark robes was rushing to me at full speed on a black horse, as if the knight from my tapestry had come to the rescue. I did not comprehend what kind of vision it was and who sent it to me until I heard:

"Ornella!"
