The Story You Help Write: The Case of The Halloween Creeper Part 2
Welcome to the story you help write. Steemit is a fun community where I love to interact with people. I also love to write fiction and have fun with all my friends. With stories you help write, you become a participant in an exciting adventure where you choose the path to solving a mystery.
Remember when you were a kid how some books let you chose what happened next? They'd give you choices as to the next step in the story. You'd pick a path, flip to a specified page, and your story would be different depending on the choices you made. That's the goal of the story you help write. I write a chapter to a story and you leave me comments telling me what you think happens next. In the next part of the story I'll write your ideas into the tale and might even include you as a character.

The Case Of The Halloween Creeper
Part 2
It was a busy morning for Marx the rabbit (@marxrab) and Detective Pinkerton. Someone was stealing Halloween decorations from all over Steemit City. It was a perplexing mystery because the clues the duo were collecting were so strange!
Marx the rabbit and Detective Pinkerton visited the Wacky Steemit Party Emporium and interviewed their staff members to see if anyone had clue as to who was stealing Halloween Decorations. The manager to the store @cecicastor reported hearing someone laughing near the witches brooms and a dog growling near the fake skeletons right before the theft.
As Marx and Pinkerton looked around the store for clues they heard @cecicastor start to scream off in the distance. Running to find her, the duo found her on the floor near a back exit door looking frightened. She told them she was returning to her office when she saw the emergency exit door wide open. She heard the same growling sound as she had heard the night before. As she backed away from the exit she was knocked to the ground and fell on her face. Halloween candy rained down on her as two people ran past her. She didn't see who pushed her down but she did see their shadows as they exited the store. Marx and Pinkerton found some candy outside on the ground but no one was around. Were the thieves bold enough to come back while detectives were there?
After leaving the Party Emporium, Marx got a call from her friend Edna (@kiwideb) from Edna's Whole Food Cafe. She reported having her traditional Halloween pumpkin pies stolen! As fast as she could bake them, they disappeared. Edna said a few times out of the corner of her eye she'd see something moving but as soon as she turned her head she'd see nothing and be alone. She reported that a few times she thought she saw a clown out of the corner of her eye but there was no clown when she turned her head.
Clowns? Dogs growling? Children laughing? Stolen witches brooms, pumpkin pies, candy, and skeletons...Very strange!
Marx decided to call her security guy @jamal.jeje and call in a favor. She decided to set up some surveillance cameras at the Party Emporium and Edna's in case the thieves returned. Maybe they could catch them on tape.
Having an unusually hot October, Marx was sweltering with her thick bunny fur. Her brain was fried trying to process all the clues she and Pinkerton had collected. Deciding she needed to cool off once she left the Party Emporium, Marx headed over to the Soggily Social Splashpark owned by her friend @creatr. A year earlier @creatr gifted Marx with a lifetime pass so she could enjoy the waterpark anytime she wanted.
Marx kept the lifetime pass in her pocket at all times!
Marx loved a good ride on a float around the Lazy River ride at the Splashpark and happily enjoyed cooling off while thinking about the case. Riding around and around, over and over she tried to think of possible connections and motive for the theft of all those Halloween supplies.
@creatr came over after a few hours to talk with the rabbit.
"Have you seen the new business that popped up in town recently? I think you might want to check it out."
"What new business," asked Marx.
"It's across town next door to the cemetery. Mikes Maid Service and Funeral Parlor," @creatr said and handed the rabbit a newspaper with a strange ad in it.
Marx read it. Then, she read it again. Then, Marx read it again.
"What the heck? A maid service/funeral parlor? Who does that!!!!"
@creatr replied, "They need brooms. Lots of brooms I assume. Maybe some skeletons for displaying in caskets? They had the weirdest grand opening to their business. Had a clown outside the funeral parlor handing our fliers and candy. "
Marx stared at the ad some more...well anything is possible. Marx decided to check out Mikes and see if there were any clues there.
Frantic message on Marx's phone from Edna:
phone rings and rings and rings but no one ever answers...
Cue dramatic music
I'm hanging out to find out what she finds. It's certainly very suspicious!
Wow, this is like stories in stereo....
I'm showing up in multiple places today. Too much fun!
I love the newspaper clipping... a fabulous touch!
And you brought back fond memories of the splash park too... ;)
