Fiction is meant to tell stories which have literary value, such as social commentary, political criticism, or human status etc. Dialogue is used in writing fiction and according to the above logic, it emphasizes the theme more than plots. Teaching in school or university is a common thing.

Contrary to fiction, it is popular, commercial or class-specific. Some have differentiated them from this - by analyzing a reality (fiction), the other is running away from reality (popular). Critics and scholars dispute many differences between these two sections of the story.
