I got to where they stood only to be greeted by one of the ladies with a broad smile which I reciprocated back with a nice smile displaying my well arranged white teeth to them, I requested to speak with my Miss Right privately sending disappointment to almost all the other ladies standing in front of me, Queenstar wasted no time by walking out on me with a very loud chuckle and pushing me aside.
Everyone in the hall started to laugh at my narration and when they were calm I continued my narration, the lady who greeted me with a smile earlier on also chuckled at me, gave me a devilish look and also walked away, one of the ladies stood behind and apologized to me not to take offence from what her friends did to me and that she will speak to them to come and apologize to me later. I thanked her and as I turned I saw virtually everyone looking at me whiles some of them laughed at me but thanks to the alcohol in my system I overlooked what went on, honestly that was the biggest embarrassment I had ever faced but I remembered the story of Thomas Alva Edison the inventor of electric bulb who never gave up after trying hundreds of times to make his first invention come to reality. My best man met me with a loud laughter and also encouraged me not to back out if truly what i said was really true, as we moved from the morgue that friday evening I was driving after a red Hyundai Elantra car which stopped in the middle of the road all of a sudden, in fact if I was driving on a tough speed I would have damaged the back of the car in front of me, I swerved to the other side and parked my car so I approach the careless driver who nearly gave me a visa to either the hospital or the grave only to meet my wife seated behind the steering. The anger in me vanished the moment I saw it was her and I offered to rather give them a helping hand, I asked what the problem was but the lady wouldn't utter a word to me, I don't know if it was pride or arrogance by that time but I wasn't concerned about that at all, the lady who apologized to me at the morgue was the one who spoke, she said the car just stopped and it wouldn't start again even though the tank was filled to the brim. I asked if they had a triangle in the trunk of the car, my wife nodded her head and i asked for her to open the trunk so I position it some meters to the car, it was getting dark so I did that so someone driving towards their direction doesn't bump into her car, as I came back to her car I saw her trying to make a call but with the look of things I believe it wasn't going through, I offered to help them even though I was not good with fixing cars. She didn't like the idea so I asked one of them to call my best friend for me so I plead with him to find a mechanic around to come and fix the car, he requested we go together but I told him the place was quite and I needed to protect the ladies should in case someone comes to attack them, he saw sense in what I said and drove my car in search of a nearby mechanical shop to get someone to help, he came back about an hour later with a mechanic, the guy tried his possible best but the car wouldn't just start, he got fed up and left, all this while my wife was still trying the line of her mechanic to see if it will go through, luckily enough it did and she gave him direction for him to come over and fix her car for her. Something stroke me to sit in her car and try my hand on something and in no time I saw the very problem with the car and I solved it, the car was a customized car and it had exceeded it mileage settings so I had to reset it and when I did that and started the car the engine was back to life again, I was the hero for that day to all the ladies except my Mrs here, I received hugs from all the ladies but my wife only said thank you and sat in her car and drove off. My best man noticed how rude my wife was but I told him not to judge so quickly since something might be behind her bad attitude towards us, funny enough I forgot to even ask of her name not to say her phone number. We got to the wake keeping venue but I didn't see my wife there all through out the night so I requested we leave the place with the hope to see her the next day at the burial service, all throughout the burial service I didn't set sight on my lady even though I combed the whole area where the funeral rites took place, I got disappointed at the end of my fruitless mission and went back to my seat. The time for the burial came so I joined the convoy that left to the cemetery with my car, we got to the cemetary peacefully and the pastor led to do the final graveside service and that was the time I felt a tap on my shoulder................
