Ireland Quickly

"Ireland did you say?"
"Aye, a ship to the island."
"It'll be 3 diamonds ride"
"Arr, here." I say with a grimace, handing over the diamonds.

"Good, now come." He turns around. I stealthily
pick his pocket, my diamonds were needed
to complete the conjuring ceremony before
the moon set.

Thank you @miniature-tiger for continuing the prompts for #fiftywords.

In this scene we have myself playing as a hooded man with a long flowing red beard with a club on his right hip. The setting is nighttime, and the protagonist is attempting to board a ship on a dock in the UK to get to Ireland to meet up with his fellow druids to give praise on Imbolc. The boatman wants pay, so he asks for gemstones, knowing that I'm well off enough to pay. What he doesn't know is the skill required to become so well off, and he is too relaxed after getting his tithe to even notice a hand in his pockets.

I like this ... you have showed character rather than told and it leaves the reader intrigued and wanting to more of the scallywag. Is there more to come?

Haha I was really developing this character while writing the story... and stopping to write about him seems impossible so YES there is more to come :)

I would love to participate in the 50 words party, but I believe I am a bit verbose. I'll have to put my head to it.

I can be verbose :P but truly I am more inclined towards being epigrammatic...
It's fun to use precision with writing, to see if anyone can understand with however little words can be got away with... But also the verbose nature of using as many words as possible so that nothing is left inbetween the cracks of understanding...is truly magnificent. I'd love to see your talents in writing - and the fun of #fiftywords truly brings out all sorts of hidden gems.

I enjoyed that @lonestarpoet Well delivered my friend
