When Photos Reveal Meaningful Truths

When I took this photo, I was sitting in the comfort of the car while it poured incessantly, the rain running down the windshield blurred the trees (which looked really cool). I pulled out my Mamiya C220 TLR and captured this image on Ilford HP5 film.

This photo reminds me of what it feels like when things are challenging and we are feeling blue and our emotions distort the way we view life.

I really want to hang this in my home as a symbol of the truth that when I'm sad, I see the world differently...but it doesn't last forever. The rain will clear up and my view will be clear again.

I have had these very same thoughts. Are you me? Lovely photo, and very insightful commentary on it.

Thank you for your kind words. I definitely was struggling last night and this photo really helped me remember that the storm will pass.

Beautiful, just beautiful!

This photo associated me on Andrei Tarkovsky!
Beautiful!
And very nice explanation. I hope it will be in your home for a long time ;)

That is a very kind comparison! I had no idea who Andrei Tarkovsky was, so I googled him and OMGOSH his images are incredible!

Great photo and wonderful story.

Thank you, it really helped bring things back into focus after a really rough day.

very atmospheric

I feel like it borders on creepy. Hauntingly beautiful maybe?

Sometimes to see clearly we need to look beyond what is immediately in front of us. Superb photo, I love the effect this generates. @old-guy-photos says you are doing a mirror photo challenge - I might just give that a try.

The #tendaysofreflection has been so much fun and really caused some growth creatively! If you click the tag, you should be able to find the introduction post, I’m on my phone at the moment or I would link it for you.

100% upvote, I really feel the emotions in this one. Resteemed

I do like your photo @ilovedietcoke I also like the philosophy of it will clear up after the rain, as the saying goes "the sun will come out tomorrow".
I do have a question though, how did you center everything? I am having a hard time understanding how to center everything especially images. Can you help me or point me in the right direction?

I use < center> at the begining of my post and < /center> at the end (without the spaces).

Okay thanks

You're welcome! I'm definitely still learning how to format things the way I want, but I'm getting better at it as I go.
