I know what you mean about the UK. I still often think back to my time on Tameside, Brighton was slightly too wild for my likings.

That “security” was pretty much how I ended up here. When I decided it was time for expanding my horizons beyond Europe, the question was one of where. Having travelled several countries and lived in several, I knew that it doesn’t really matter where you end up. But your social circle is what it’s all about. I had most friends here so it was an obvious choice/base.

And yes, it was the first time I committed that cardinal sin of moving somewhere I wouldn’t have a direct job opportunity. Read: leaving the EU for extended time.
