Catch & Cook Huge Flathead Fish 🐟🧡

Beach caught flathead, proper Aussie style🧡

A solid fish pulled from the surf gutter just on the turn of the tide, camo skin, big mouth, all business. Quick dispatch, straight on ice, snow white flesh, and filleted the next morning. Dusted in flour, salt and pepper, hot pan with butter and a squeeze of lemon. Crispy edges, flaky centre, sweet clean flavour.
Simple catch and cook, hard to beat 🧡

How I caught this fish:

🐟 Bait - Herring
🐟 Hook - Size 6
🐟 Main line - 30lb Mono
🐟 Leader - 60lb Fluro carbon
🐟 Reel - Shimano Stradic SW B Spinning Reel
🐟 Rod - Ugly Stik Gold 2, 7ft 10 and 20kgs

It was bang on 70cms, so we kept it and cooked it up.
