Squatting under extreme fatigue!

in #fitness7 years ago

Who's ready for squats?!

I definitely was not

Since I got sick late Wednesday night into Thursday morning, I had zero appetite all the way through Saturday morning. In that period I managed to get in maybe 1000 calories and even that was tough.
Considering I try and consume 2700-3000 a day, having only around 1000 over the course of about 60 hours or so is a pretty significant difference. I ended up weighing 155 this morning when typically I stay right around 161.

Needless to say, I'm not looking forward to how weak I'm going to be on this squat workout.

Welp, let's get this over with.

Today I have @Goldarr and Matty joining me. I'm trying to convince Matty to sign up for steemit, so hopefully soon I can just use his handle.
Ok, warm up.

imageas per usual, my numbers in purple and Tarick in green

Matty did about half of the warm up, keeping with the trend of saving energy for a PR. I actually felt pretty good during the warm up, but it was a fairly easy one so I was still nervous about how the squats would move.

As you can see, I survived! Barely.
The first set felt fine, surprisingly. The second set was a little more difficult as I had anticipated. The top set was extremely grindy, but I was determined not to fail. Even if I had to skip accessory work and conditioning I wasn't going to forfeit the top set lol.

Like I said, v grindy.
@Goldarr's set moved very smooth. And Matty with 290! That's a 15lb squat PR, so we were all pretty excited.

I bumped up the weights for front squats a little bit since they moved so easy last week. I was feeling pretty good still by this point, otherwise I would have kept it at the lighter weights.

those glitches during Tarick's set are irritating, sorry guys

Matty did participate in the front squats, but he hadn't done them before so he went light to figure out the form and ended up doing a set with 135 for his top set. I screwed up the filming (aka I freaking forgot to hit record) so, apologies Matty. He had to cut out after that, we had been running pretty long by this point and he was going to visit some extended family that evening.

imageAhh, conditioning. I just love it! No, seriously I do

I had done this one previously and it took me 8:53 so this was a time PR. While I'm not particularly competitive, I will push harder around my friends if only just to seem like its not as hard as it really is lol.
My legs were burning before the first set of squats were done so by the end they were screamin 😩

All things considered, this workout was great. Not only for me but Matty got a PR and Tarick went heavier on front squats and wasn't in any real discomfort. I'm not sure if I've mentioned it, but he dislocated his shoulder in early summer so we've been extra cautious about anything that may nag at his shoulder in any way.

imageI almost forgot I did snap a photo of a Matty front squat

Ok everyone, I appreciate you reading!
Have a great day!

Nice work!
@myleskshupe I give you a info, i look at you wallet and see that you don't sell you steemdoller, go to the marked and sell it to steem, you will see you account value get higher and if you want you can add it after the trade to you steempower.
I do it by myselfe because the steemdoller is at the moment up to 9 USD ( normal is somthing like 1 doller up to 3)

Yeah I gotta get a little better at this lol. But whenever I go to the market it only gives me the option to buy Steem? Or, it says I have nothing available to sell I should say. There's an option to sell but it says I don't have any Steem to sell.

I converted my 4 steemdollars to about 20 steem a couple days ago when steeemdollar was about $10. Steem was about $2 and that is why I got 20 steem for my $40 woth of steemdollar. My estimated account value went from $9 to $43 which was pleasant surprise because I did the conversion naively not even knowing what the value of steemdollars or steem was at the time because I am a newb too. So I agree with @datristan that now seems like a good time to convert steemdollar to steem.

To do this go to market and then you want to Buy Steem on the left half of the screen. Click the green "Avaiable" link and this will autofill the AMOUNT and TOTAL boxes. Click the green "Lowest ask" link and this will autofill the PRICE box. Then the Buy Steem button will work.

I hope I have made this clear rather than confuse you more. Just ask if you have any more questions.

Dude you're the best haha yeah you explained it perfectly, I'm admittedly not the most tech savvy but now my account just jumped from $14 to $70 so thank you, and thanks to @datristan for bring the topic up to begin with.

Good. There is still one more step you can take. You can power up the steem which will make your upvotes worth more. Either way it won't change your account value. The only thing is I think it takes 1-2 yrs to power down to get all your steem back if you wanted to remove it from your account to for example trade it for Bitcoin. To power up, in your wallet click the down arrow next to Steem and click Power UP

Nice, I see it worked. Welcome, we sit all in the same boat ;) @myleskshupe
Nice explanation @ninjamike

If you want you can add you steem to you steempower(power up), maybe you vote gives after that 0,01$.
You can change it backward to steem after some weeks (power down)... So I wish you and your family a merry christmass

Your vote is compled
