Our strawberries are in the open, but could be ready soon if the sun keeps shining. I'm looking out for slugs and snails. Enjoy your fruity rewards
Slugs are one of my biggest problems in the garden. The heat of the polytunnel seems to deter them. Otherwise handpicking seems to the most effective organic solution.
I do go on slug and snail hunts. I don't want to resort to poisons, but it can be frustrating when they eat young plants.
Slugs are nature's challenge ...
If only they were tasty. I could live off those in my garden. Do chickens eat them?
Some chickens will eat slugs - but I believe there is a potential danger of them getting some sort of worm from the slugs.
The Indian Runner Ducks I used to have loved the slugs.
