Rosemary is an annual plant
Its flowers are beautiful, available in pink, red, purple, white, and pale yellow. The flowers resemble orchids or miniature roses, which is why it's also known as "lady's slipper." Rosemary's most interesting feature is its seed pods. When ripe, the pods burst open at the slightest touch, scattering the seeds far and wide. It can be easily grown from seed. It is used to enhance the beauty of parks, home gardens, and pots.
Different parts of rosemary are used in Ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine. The juice from its leaves is applied to treat skin irritations and nail infections (such as fungus). The flowers also provide a natural dye, which was used in ancient times as henna to color nails.
Growing rosemary is very easy:
It requires fertile soil with good drainage. The plant can thrive in both sun and light shade, but it's best to protect it from the intense afternoon sun. It requires regular watering, as its stems are succulent and wilt quickly when water is scarce. In India, it's best planted during the monsoon season
