Solidago canadensis Plant

Solidago canadensis. You probably know it as just goldenrod, right? This is the plant that really takes over the fields when summer is almost done. It's not a tiny little flower; it grows up tall, and then the top of it gets covered in these big, bushy plumes of tiny yellow flowers. It looks like a bright yellow feather duster.

Many people think this is the plant that gives them hay fever, but that's not really true, you know? It gets a bad reputation. The wind doesn't carry its pollen much. It just blooms at the same time as ragweed, which is the real problem.
