Exploring Calton Hill in the Fog
One highlight I was particularly looking forward to in Edinburgh was the view of the city and especially Princess Street from Calton Hill. The sky was overcast when I started the climb, and halfway up, when I passed Jacob's Ladder, which reminded me of the movie of the same name, the visibility was still quite good. But the weather in Edinburgh changes incredibly quickly, and I was quite unlucky when I reached the top of the hill. At that very moment, a thick fog descended on the city. In post-processing, however, I found some of the shots very atmospheric precisely because of this. Fortunately, I still had a few days left in the Scottish capital, and I soon made another visit to Calton Hill—with much clearer visibility.
