Begging for followers is a fatal flaw
If you're doing it, stop doing it right now.
Well put.. people will soon realize that even if they do get some response in the beginning - they will never be able to sustain it. Rewards shouldn't be "expected"- especially if you havent built a following. It takes a lot of posts, a few good relationships, and interesting content to build your base. I say participate in other peoples content - and maybe they'll take an interest in yours. It has to be an organic process - it can't be forced!
I had a dream that every steemian will get followers thanks to valuable content :)

I'm only new to Steemit but it's easy to see that follow begging or even asking for upvote for upvote, follow for follow will never work.
The whole system is based on how much merit you bring to the platform through quality content, not any amount of begging.
