I just received a tweet from followmyvote...

"If you haven't seen the posts yet, we just rebooted our Kickstarter! It seems our goal was a bit high the 1st time. Funds will go towards our parallel election this year. Please donate & share!"

Their initial goal of over $3 million was a really "littlebit" too high and obviously not very realistic.
However they did come back to earth and the new minimum goal is "only" $21k which should be easy to reach.

Our goal is to raise at least $21,000 with this Kickstarter campaign. We’ve selected $21,000 as our initial goal, as a Kickstarter best practice, because we know without a doubt that raising $7,000 within the first 3 days of the campaign is achievable. Ideally, we’d like to raise $400,000 or more. The more money we raise, the better.

Upon reaching our Kickstarter goal, the $21,000 we raise will be used to hire additional development support to ensure our voting software is completed in time to put on our planned parallel presidential election demonstration.

From there, if we exceed $21,000, we plan to spend the remaining the funds we raise to improve upon the design of the User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) within our voting software. We are currently, projecting these costs to be around $100,000.

We are projecting our actual parallel election hosting costs to be around $3 per person. We’ve set a goal to be able to support at least 100,000 voters in our parallel election. For every $3 we raise over $100,000, we’ll be able to allow an additional person to participate.

As far as i know they are planning to integrate their voting software directly on BitShares and as a longterm BTS "tiny"-investor I appreciate every additional direct or indirect use case for the BitShares chain.

I think it is important to keep them going on what they are doing for BTS even if I'm also a bit disappointed with their communication skills and how they did not delivered a usable product until now.
But I really wish that they are able to host their "Follow My Vote's Parallel Presidential Election" in November 2016.
And I hope the FMV story will become a success just because that would be good for BTS.

I consider my support for FMV in the first place as donation but more important as indirect investment in BitShares.
