Rorion told how his family had managed to bring a real revolution to the jiu-jitsu world, creating his own current and style in this martial art.
He told his life story, starting from the moment he left his native Brazil in his 16th birthday to travel to the United States. In the beginning, Rorion Gracie was forced to do anything, before eventually collecting enough money to start giving private jujutsu lessons in his own garage.
Rorion has discovered that so-called "Gracie Jiu Jitsu" is more than a sport. He could easily define it as a lifestyle. Lifestyle based on keeping your body healthy.
"Gracie diet" is a nutrition method developed over 65 years of research. The method was first used by Carlos Gracie. Based on common sense and the right combination of food, this way of eating is the secret to the success of the world's largest and most famous family of martial arts - Gracie.
The basic principle of Gracie's diet is that the blood level of the blood is kept neutral, consuming only compatible nutrients at each meal. The Gracie diet is flexible but definitely prohibits consumption of pork and its derivatives. Also, alcohol consumption and cigarette smoking are beyond question.
The main focus of Gracie's diet is to combine a specific type of food and avoid others such as dried fruit or pork.
Here is a very small part of the basic principles of Gracie's diet:
Foods that are compatible with all others: raw or cooked yolk, coconut water, beer yeast, coffee and certain types of tea.
Bread should only be made from wholemeal flour and should not be consumed within 24 hours after it has been baked. When consumed, it must be toast or heated in an oven.
Avoid jam, canned foods in syrup, and spices such as pepper, cinnamon, mustard, vinegar. If you are a fan of pickles, we have bad news about them - they also enter the "forbidden" list.
Distribute your meals in at least 4 and a half hours of each other to ensure their full digestion before the time comes for the next. There is no problem waiting longer. Small children can also eat every 4 hours. If you feel hungry before the time has elapsed, drink a glass of water. But do not be tempted to eat something "little".
