Wellnesszone: Pineapples, Promising Good Health
Pineapple is a tropical fruit and a member of the bromeliad family. It is a composite fruit formed from the fusion of many separate berries on the central stalk of its plant. The scales on the skin of the fruit represent the individual berries. This delicious fruit is surrounded by sword-like leaves. Multiple, waxy leaf-like structures are also on top of each fruit. It derived its name “pineapple” from the similarity of its appearance to pine cones.
