My Smoking Addiction/The Art Of Smoked Meat

in #food7 years ago (edited)

Ever since I got my smoker I cant stop using it. I literally get up in the morning and smoke some bacon, and then continue on to cook every other meal of the day in it.

There are a few reasons I love it. The main one being, that distinct smokey, full body flavor of the meat. But I also just enjoy the process. There is something primal about stoking a fire and maintaining it in order to cook your food, it just feels right. I love cooking outside. Enjoying the sunshine listening to some music with the smell of hickory smoke in the air, that's a fantastic day in my books.

with all the different types of wood to use, there are lots of new flavors to discover. I am always trying new kinds to find the perfect matches for each type of meat.

I really enjoy how the nice slow cook retains all the meats natural juices. The Beautiful sear marks are just an atheistically pleasing bonus.

Hickory smoked hamburger and bacon as well as chunks of melted cheese and fresh from my own garden lettuce. This may have been the best burger I ever had.

Smoking is not just a great way to cook your meat, but an art form that takes lots of time, practice and patience. But believe me when I tell you the reward is worth everything you put into it and then some.

Thanks for reading, I hope I didn't make anyone to hungry.
