WAFU - A Japanese ALL YOU CAN EAT Premium meat Buffet

in #food7 years ago

It's funny how just a little while ago I wrote about changing my diet and now Im writing a review for an all you can eat buffet at a pretty popular Japanese restaurant here in the Philippines.

Just a disclaimer - I ate at this restaurant before starting my new diet. I also don't intend to completely stop enjoying food and indulging once in a while. Life is about experiences, and good food (in moderation) is an experience.

WAFU - A Japanese restaurant in the popular Greenhills shopping center (a place where you can buy just about anything including pearls, electronics, knock-off designer products, and pirated DVDs/Movies.) The restaurant offers wide varieties of Japanese dishes from Teppanyaki, Sushi, Bowls and Steaks.

During this visit, we decided to try their all you can eat buffet on the 2nd floor, which included soup, rice, and various choices of premium meat, seafood, vegetables, sushi, and other scrumptious delights for your tummy all of which is cooked to your liking right in front of you. The damage for such a buffet, 1200 PHP (equivalent to about $30 USD).

Below is a menu of unlimited items we could order until we could eat no more.

The ambiance of the restaurant is warm, cozy, and very welcoming - decorated in a modern japanese style. Generally I'm not a buffet person and I never eat enough to maximize the amount I pay, but this restaurant came highly recommended because of the quality food and ingredients they use.

The Chef we were assigned started by introducing himself and the various items on the menu shown above. He went through the various oils, spices, and ingredients he would be using as well as identifying to us the various proteins, vegetables, and seafood we had selected off of the menu to start with.

Once done, he set the table aflame to disinfect and clean it. Quiet a way to warm up the party - literally. He asked how we wanted everything cooked and along the way also recommended sauces that would go well with each of the dishes. It was an enjoyment alone to watch him cook and prepare our food, portioning it for each of us as he completed cooking each dish.

I must say, I did a pretty good job keeping up with the Chef as he cooked each portion of our meal. I could not however order a second round. I was completely full. Not only were we eating everything the chef was preparing, we were also eating the sushi and tempura that was being prepared and brought out to us.

For those who love Japanese food, good conversation, a warm and welcoming environment, and an unlimited supply of all of it, I would highly recommend visiting WAFU. I would also recommend Chef Josel who was a great host who prepared us a great tasting and filling meal.

Below is a short video of our experience. Enjoy!!

Looks like a great experience... Although I initially read the title as saying All You Can Eat Wagu, which would be crazy!!!

That would be amazing!! I would starve myself all day to fully maximize that kind of buffet :D

I just had a great supper and I'm hungry again after watching that video. hmm

Food for thought. Glad you enjoyed the video! That was only the first half. Im uploading the second half of the video now. :)

Looks like a great eat all you can place.

It is. Definitely a place to try for people who love Buffets

Great review man. I wish there were quality buffets like that around where I am! This actually seems like a pretty healthy place to eat. What diet change took it off the menu?
For the record:
Soup 1
Meat 2
Meat 3

I decided to try a heart healthy diet which cuts out a lot of meat and poultry :(

Yeah, I went through your blog and found it. I can't say I think it's a good decision (because I don't), but I can wish you luck.

So good luck mate.

Thanks. Yep it is gonna be very tough to not eat meat and poultry day in and day out, but worth a shot. I'm not cutting it out of my diet completely, just reducing the frequency and amount. Thanks for the support!!

Following. Good luck to ya.
