RECIPE: Arepa cabimera

Today I bring you a different recipe to the ones I usually publish, they know that they are suitable for a totally healthy diet. This recipe I like to prepare when I like to give myself a taste and get out of the routine. It is very delicious and simple to prepare, the ingredients are easy to use and you will love them.
Perhaps you have heard about these popular arepas, they are very typical in the Cabimas municipality located in the state of Zulia, Venezuela. They steal the heart of more than one, is a different way of eating the arepa, because all the ingredients on it, that is, it does not open to fill it. The most usual way to consume them.
There are many variations in terms of protein that are used, the options range from minced meat, tenderloin, chicken, chicken pieces, among others. On this occasion, I decided to use chicken breast. Even in many fast food places they offer mixed versions of chicken and meat. You can also choose if the arepa you want it fried or roasted.
Take note!
- For the arepa: precooked corn flour
- For the salad: 1/4 cabbage, 1/4 carrot, 1/4 onion, 1 tablespoon mayonnaise, pepper, salt and vinegar.
- Sauces (Optional): 2 tablespoons Mayonnaise, 1/4 onion, pepper, salt, vinegar and tomato sauce.
- Other ingredients: 1 boiled egg, 150gr of chicken breast cubed, 1 longa of smoked ham, sliced cheese and cheese to taste.
Prepare the salad by cutting the very fine cabbage and scratch the carrot. We also add onions, salt, pepper and mayonnaise. Finally we scramble and reserve.
Add in a large cup water and the amount of flour needed for an arepa. Then you proceed to cook it in a budare or frying pan and then to the oven until it is ready.
Another option, if you want you can make it fried instead of roasted.
In a frying pan we cook the cheese and the ham longa.
Another option: You can make the fried cheese or place it at room temperature.
We proceed to make a special sauce, in a cup add the mayonnaise, onion, striped, vinegar, pepper and salt.
Another option: You can add cilantro or parsley.
Cut the arepa into 8, 6 or 4 pieces and add the salad.
Cut the ham and add it, place a part of the cheese, the chicken and a part of the white sauce.
Add the remaining sliced cheese, the sliced cooked egg, add more white sauce and grated cheese for the final touch. In the same way, you can add tomato sauce and mustard to taste.
