Hi Stemmians!

Today, I want to talk about this new superfood... MACA!

source

What is the MACA? origin ? benefits ?

Cultivated in the heart of Peru on the Andes mountains, maca is nicknamed "the gold of the Incas".
The maca root is found only in one place in the world !!! In Peru, and in two distinct regions: Junin and Pasco

source

It was first of all the Spaniards who discovered it in the 16th century, using it to feed their horses. It is subsequently adopted by the Incas and local peasants. Even today, the Peruvians cultivate it in the respect of ancestral methods and consume it daily.

Maca is considered an "adaptogen", a name given to certain herbs, plants and natural substances. It helps the body to adapt naturally to stress factors, such as a busy schedule, a demanding job or a disease, for example.

Another fact about the root of maca is that it has been considered a very powerful aphrodisiac and a traditional fertility of populations living in the Andes. I'll let you try ...;)

You're welcome! =D

Thank you for the info! I'm always searching for new nutrition and health foods and to connect with others who do the same! I really and truly subscribe to the idea that our health is determined mainly by the foods we eat, by the way we eat--as well as by our lifestyle! Your presentation was informative but "easy-to-digest" (sorry!) I'll be following you and checking your page! Keep up the good work!

Thank you very much for this nice comment! Very appreciated =) I try to write in English and I'm happy if it's easy to digest despite my low level of English ... =)

Maca is great, especially as powder in a chocolate banana smoothie 😊 Whenever I used it, I experienced a profound increase in my energy level - that might be partly because of the cocoa that I often put in my mixture along with it, but maca still played a big part.

Such exciting effects of this humble root 💚

amazing and informative post
