Vung Tau Beach and Famous Local Eats

in #food6 years ago

We managed to get to Vung Tau yesterday at lunch time. We were all very tired from the other day's activities. So we sought after one of the best local eateries, the Banh Khot Sua.

This is the local go to eats, you can tell by the amount of people that frequent the place. It is literally a hole in the wall kind of eatery. Plastic stools for chairs, short, small tables, flies on food and get your own service to boot. Not for the queasy but great food.

My friend didn't enjoy the experience though as he is the luxury kind of guy. Funny how he is always talking about how poor they were growing up in Asia, almost proud like. Could not stand eating the food there. I guess he forgets where he came from.

We retired to our hotel after that great food, so full.

Next Day

Here we are, early in the morning, on the beach of Vung Tau.

This is the hotel we stayed in called the Romeliess Hotel and those are our clothes hanged up in that balcony.

I know hotels hate them because aesthetic wise, it is not very pleasant. But hey, we needed to save money on laundry. We wash our own clothes in the hotel bathroom and the humidity and heat helps with the drying. We are so cheap.

I saw some fishermen packing up for the day and selling their fresh catch to some locals. How's that for some fresh seafood.

Some huge tires connected via a beam. Most likely to haul boats in and out to sea.
