I have always walked past this place for many years, I have been told by a few people that the food was very good but for some reason I have never visited.
I spotted a recent voucher on Itison for two mains, so I thought ok lets go try and see what its like.
The cafe part of this restaurant is situated downstairs, it has a very traditional look and feel. Even though you are now underground, it has a feel of daylight the way the lighting has been set up.
The Food…
Duck Liver Pate £6.00
with orange jelly and garlic crossinis
On arrival this looked very good, and one of my BIG issues with Pate at any restaurant is you get loads of pate but not a enough of whatever they give you to put it on...so this looked like it could be enough.
This was very nice, everything worked perfectly together and there was just enough to spread the pate on....maybe one more crostini would have been better.

Pan fried Loch Fyne Salmon £n/a as voucher (normally £13.75)
with pomme anna, steamed cabbage and wild mushroom, pea and bacon fricassee
I am not a fish person to start with, but the other options on the menu didn't really grab me so I opted for this as I like salmon.
Presentation looked very good, and now time to taste.
This was very tasty all the flavours worked well with the fish and I really enjoyed it. Portion size was perfect as it was very filling. The salmon was cooked perfectly and not too dry.

Crème Brulee £5.75
with seasonal berries
This was very very nice, shame it was in a small dish I could have had this in one twice the size.
This for me was the best part of tonights meal.

Overall
Overall my first visit was a nice one, for me personally without a voucher its a little costly.
Rogano has always been very well known, so I am guessing you are paying for the name.
