      Ela ada is steam cooked and counted as one of the healthiest traditional snacking options from Kerala. Your kids will definitely love this, as it will satisfy their sweet tooth.
 It is generally arranged on Onam.Poovada, is set up in the tip end of the plantain leaf as the Nivedyam for Onam, into this ada goes, with the coconut filling, a sprinkling of the Thumbapoo(a white blossom Leucas aspera),making it more auspicious. INGREDIENTS. :-

  • Roasted rice flour. : 1 cup

  • Grated Coconut : 1 cup

-Granted Jaggery :1/2 cup

  • Hot water : as required

  • Salt : a pinch

  • Cardamon powder : 1/4 tea spoon

  • Oil : 1 table spoon

  • Banana Leaf : 4-5 pieces

PREPARATION. :-

STEP 1 :-

      For this first we blend rice flour, water and salt together and make delicate mixture like chapati batter. Take mind not to make it watery.

STEP 2 :-

    Now we combine ground coconut, ground jaggery and cardamom powder to shape the filling. Keep it aside.

STEP 3 :-

       Now we take a bit of banana leaf and touch a little oil everywhere throughout the upper side of the leaf.

STEP 4 :-

     Then we make lemon estimated balls with the batter. Keep a mixture ball in the focal point of the banana leaf and painstakingly level it to a thin layer utilizing your fingertips.

STEP 5 :-

   Presently take the coconut-jaggery filling and spread it over the rice layer.

 Overlap the leaf and press it well in all sides so the fillings don't spill out.

    Steam the ela ada utilizing a steamer or idli cooker for 10 to 15 minutes.

Expel the banana leaf and present with some warm drain.
