The Salt damage to the human body

Salt damage to your health

I have heard before about salt damage to the health. Salt works on the kidneys to make the body keep more water inside. But this excess stored water causes high blood pressure, pressure on the kidneys, arteries, heart and brain. Below i will review the effect of salt on these parts of the body

1

Kidneys

The kidneys remove unwanted fluid from the body by filtering the blood. Any additional liquid is absorbed by the kidneys and placed in the bladder in preparation for exiting the body through the urine.

The kidneys do so by osmotic pressure to extract excess water from the blood. This process uses an accurate balance of sodium and potassium to pull excess water through a wall of cells from the bloodstream and into a collection channel leading to the bladder.

If you eat salt, the amount of sodium in the blood increases, resulting in a negative balance of sodium and potassium, which reduces the ability of the kidney to remove excess water from the body. As a result, blood pressure increases due to excess fluid and pressure on blood vessels leading to the kidneys.

Over time, this pressure on the kidneys may harm them, causing kidney disease. Which reduces their ability to purify the blood of toxins and unwanted substances, which then begin to spread in the body. If kidney disease is not treated and blood pressure is not reduced, it may eventually lead to kidney failure. Kidney failure is the inability of the kidneys to purify the blood of toxins, making blood slowly poisoned by toxic substances in the body.

Arteries

Excessive blood pressure caused by too much salt puts additional pressure on the walls of the arteries. Therefore, the small muscles in the walls of the artery become stronger and thicker to deal with this extra pressure. But this makes the vacuum inside the arteries smaller and increases the blood pressure. This cycle of increased blood pressure (which occurs slowly over several years) can lead to an artery burst or even narrowing the occlusion. When the occlusion occurs, the organs of the body that receive blood from the arteries become hungry for the oxygen and nutrients they need. This may lead to damage and can be fatal.

the heart

High blood pressure caused by too much salt may damage the arteries leading to the heart. In the beginning, it may cause a slight decrease in the amount of blood that reaches the heart, which can lead to angina (which is severe chest pain when doing any activity and may also come at rest). In this case, the cells in the heart do not work as they should because they do not receive enough oxygen and nutrients. However, lowering blood pressure may help alleviate some problems and reduce the risk of greater harm.

If you are still taking too much salt, over time, the damage caused by high blood pressure can lead to an explosion or blockage of your arteries. If this happens, the part of the heart that was receiving blood no longer gets the oxygen and nutrients it needs and dies, causing the heart attack.

The best way to prevent heart attack is to prevent damage to the arteries. The best way to do this is to maintain blood pressure by eating less salt.

the brain

Eating too much salt leads to high blood pressure, leading to damage to the arteries leading to the brain. May initially cause a slight decrease in the amount of blood reaching the brain, which can lead to dementia (or vascular dementia). In this case, brain cells do not work because they do not receive enough oxygen and nutrients. However, low blood pressure may help reduce some problems and reduce the risk of further damage. So if you are still eating too much salt in your food, over time, your arteries will become very damaged as a result of high blood pressure and may explode or cause a blockage. If this happens, this part of the brain that was receiving blood is not getting the oxygen or nutrients it needs, which causes the death of this part. This causes a stroke, as this part of the brain loses its ability to do what it used to do. The best way to preserve the brain is to prevent damage to the arteries, by maintaining blood pressure by eating less salt.
