How to make Biscuits "Red velvet" at home

If you fancy trying something different then Biscuits "Red velvet" are a great alternative to cupcakes. Chewy and slightly soft, these red velvet ones are ideal as regular and healthy food.

Ingredients

For the test:

  • 250 g of flour;
  • 125 ml buttermilk or low-fat cream;
  • 30 g of cocoa powder;
  • ½ teaspoon of soda;
  • ½ teaspoon of salt;
  • 250 g of sugar (better reed);
  • 1 egg;
  • 50 g of butter;
  • 5 ml of vanilla extract or 1 g of vanillin;
  • 15 ml of red food coloring.

For filling:

  • 2 egg whites;
  • 220 g of sugar;
  • 5 ml of vanilla extract
  • or 1 g of vanillin;
  • 15 ml of syrup or honey.

Let us learn how to make a cake "Red Velvet", but for a picnic, a miniature version of dessert is suitable. It will take very little time to prepare it.

First, preheat the oven to 180 ° C. Mix the flour, soda, cocoa powder and salt. In another bowl, whip the butter and one egg. Then send the extract of vanilla (vanillin) and sugar, mix until homogeneous. Add this mixture alternately with buttermilk (cream) in a bowl with flour, stirring constantly. Pour in the colorant and mix again.

Now take a baking tray and lay out the dough: one biscuit will need 2 spoons of mass. Bake for 10-15 minutes.

While preparing cakes, make a stuffing. Mix all ingredients in a bowl of heat-resistant glass. Put the bowl in a frying pan with boiling water and continuously stir the mixture for 5-7 minutes until it becomes thick, creamy.

When the filling cools down, do not grudge the pastries and put them together.
