I'm out of flax seed or I would have added that too. The boys in my family don't like eating healthy so I try to sneak it in anywhere I can. LOL
I think I might even add a tablespoon of honey in the next batch (not that it needs it, but I'm a curious baker).
Yes, you can use any beer. I lean more toward the dark ales.

Yeah my hubby is a picky eater, so I have to sneak that stuff in. My kids are much better.
