Pan-grilled salmon inspired by Grandma's recipe
Inspired by @tadstrange Grandma's Honey Baked Salmon, I decided to make one for dinner tonight!
The original ingredient list from @tadstrange post are:
- Salmon with skin (deboned)
- Lemon Wedges
- Bay Leaves
- Honey (Manuka, if you can find/afford it)
- Rosemary
- Garlic
- Thyme
Equipment: Oven
I modified the recipe based on what i can find in my kitchen. Instead of baking the salmon, I just pan-fried it as I don't have an oven.My ingredients:
- Salmon with skin (deboned)
- Lime juice
- Bay Leaves
- Honey (Acacia Honey from Sarawak)
- Mixed herbs (Oregano, Rosemary, Basil, Parsley, & Marjoram)
- Garlic
- Pepper
Equipment: Pan
I prepared butter garlic French bean to pair with the grilled salmon.
Step 1: Season salmon with bay leaves, honey, mixed herbs, pepper and lime juice.
Step 2: Wash French bean in clean water and de-string them.
Step 3: Add a pinch of salt and boil the French bean until they become soft, which takes me about 5 minutes.
Step 4: Drain water. Stir fry French bean with butter and garlic until the garlic is fragrant.
Step 5: Remove French bean from the pan and add two spoon of olive oil. Add the salmon skin-side down. Fry for 2-3 minutes, then turn the salmon over and fry for a further 1-2 minutes, or until it is cooked.
Step 6: Place the cooked salmon and butter garlic French bean onto a serving plate and the meal is ready to be served!
This looks really delicious good job!
