French toast

I love breakfast, and one of my favorite meals is french toast.1002-104800.jpg

I make my french toast without a recipe (I usually eye ball it too, so I'll do my best to guesstimate the amount of the ingredients)

for 5 pieces of french toast I use:

3 eggs
1/3 cup milk
1 tbsp pure vanilla extract

Put a good non stick pan on the stove to heat at about med/high (consider adjusting the heat)
I usually lower the heat of the stove to about medium once the mix is done and the bread hits the pan.

Mix the three ingredients in a flat bowl, for better bread absorption. Using dry bread is good because it makes super moist french toast. Dip the bread in the bowl covering both sides. I usually let my bread sit in the bowl so it can soak up as much of the egg mixture as possible. Thick slices of bread require a longer cooking time at a lower temperature.

Put butter or coconut oil or any of your preferred cooking oils in the pan, if it smokes, then the heat is too high so take the pan off and wait for it to cool off a bit.

Place the bread in the pan and wait until the side that is down is golden brown, then flip the bread over and wait again for the golden brown perfection.

Repeat process for all your pieces of bread until there's no mix left.

Serve with maple syrup. You can substitute maple syrup with agave, honey or any jam and even peanut butter!

Bon appetit and I hope you ENJOY!

I've never considered anything but eye balling my French toast. Usually around a tbsp of milk to each egg. Or ill use water, to help the eggs stand up better.

ya, I use water too sometimes, or any nut milk
