Gorgeous scenery is one reason to visit the rolling hills of Le Langhe area in Italy. It's location in the northwest corner of the country is in the Piemonte region, province of Cuneo.

Langhe is famous for wines, cheeses and truffles----especially the white truffles of Alba. World wide tourists are known for going to this area to experience the wine trails, tasting the cheeses and truffle hunting.

The annual truffle festival is held each year in Alba during October. For a month or more this quaint little town becomes a world market for truffles.

Alba is the capital of the Piemonte region , but the surrounding towns also have much to offer. Both Barolo and Grinzane Cavour are known throughout the world for their wines. Located not far from Alba, both host regional wine cellars.

Monforte and La Morra have panoramic landscapes and famous restaurants. Rows of vines are the home to bunches of black Nebbiolo grapes used in the production of the famous Barolo wine. Serralunga has a beautiful castle for exploring.

East of Alba along the right bank of the River Tanaro is Barbaresco, home to Barbaresco wine, also made from the Nebbiolo grape. The two towns of Treiso and Neive are also found in this area, which are known as the towns of four wines: Barbaresco, Dolcetto,Barbera and Moscato.

Being home to the famous "Ferrero" confectionary group is one of Alba's claim to fame. There is another one, I'm particularly clued into because it involves family.

"Dulcis Vitis" Restaurant is owned and operated by chef Bruno Cingolani. Bruno is a native of Le Marche region, but left the Adriatic Sea to open his restaurant in Piemonte. With over 40 years cooking experience, he has been active in promoting cooking skills around the world

He has held seminars in Brasil, the USA, Taiwan, Mexico, and Russia and has organized personalized cooking courses in his own restaurant. Bruno enjoys sharing his knowledge of Italian cuisine with young people everywhere.

Chef Cingolani uses only the freshest ingredients from selected, local, raw ingredients and suppliers. In his cooking, wine is mixed with food to reward the diner's taste buds! Thus "Dulcis Vitis" meaning "sweet life".

Bruno believes food is the body and wine is the soul. In the Dulcis Vitis wine cellar there are hundreds of bottles of the best producers of Le Langhe, Roero and the world. The chef collects this large assortment to stress the importance of matching the right wine to a specific dish!

The restaurant is housed underground, and the exposed bricks give it an antiquated and historical look. There is also a touch of elegance along with an open kitchen, hiding no secrets of preparation.

From appetizers, bread, pasta, meats, vegetables and desserts , Bruno's dishes are unsurpassed in freshness and quality.
