Travel global, EAT LIKE A LOCAL!

Dear Steemers,

Does it happen to other members that you start writing about something and then you end up writing about a totally different topic?

Story of my life since I joined Steemit. And it is freaking happening again.. I tell myself, ok there are definitely two sides of the coin:
Side 1: You must do some prioritization woman. Follow a certain logic into your blog
Side 2: What the hell? I do the prioritization every freaking day of my life! Steemit is time for myself and nobody shall influence whatever I am doing here, not even me. JUST LET IT FLOW! And then I smile, thinking oh well, at least this means I have a lot of things to write about. So I will write on food (which was the original thought before we ended up travelling across countries) the next time :P ... or maybe the next next time :p

After I have explained to you what just went on for the last 5 minutes in my life, It is time now to take a trip together to beautiful Italy!

The above picture is taken in Torino Di Sangro, last march :) Italy is so close to us that it would be a shame not to have visited yet.

Torino di Sangro is a communi in Italy, small as 3,000 inhabitants! There are some Italians, that do not have a clue where it is. I had a guy being very surprised I visited such a lost commune of Italy. Usually you expect foreigners to go to Rome.. or Milan.. or Florence. I do that too, but what I enjoy the most is the small places, where you can truly get to know the locals and their culture.

What amazed me, was how they served the courses.

So, first course was of course PASTAAA!
me: WHAT?!
Note: The first night we arrived there, I felt such an ignorant. After they served us pasta, then they brought the salad. uninformed me thought maybe the cook did not have time to cut the salad and since we had to travel all day long.. he was being nice trying to feed us as soon as possible. WRONG!

Second Course- SALAD!
Note: The salad consisted only of lettuce and olive oil. Let me tell you that the lettuce was so fresh and sweet.
The leaf of the lettuce was bigger than that we use in Albania.

In Albania we have very fresh tasty products and most of our farmers have not introduced themselves to tricks yet. Maybe, saying "most" it is too optimistic. However, I can still buy food from the old lady that comes everyday from her village in the capital, to sell her garden products.

Third Course: MOZZARELLA... every freaking day.. all day! We had mozzarella for breakfast, mozzarella for lunch, mozzarella for dinner!

As you see, I am citing sources of pictures today. Those who follow me, know this is rare as I am very passionate about photography! Well, sorry but this time I was busy eating. I spent only 12 days in this small village of Italy, and came back home with 8 kg plus! Not funny at all. Nothing is fitting anymore, which is such a good excuse for shopping :P

This trip was amazing, and I am definitely not sharing much with you in this post! I would like to write a second post on it, which has more to do with the reason of my travel there :) Today it was more about food!

Stay tuned if you enjoyed this post :) I am looking forward to your comments. Let me know if you had a food orgy in Italy, just as good as mine!

Until next time, keep on eating :D

Love,
xxx

I'm not sure writing is what many people think it is. Most people think it is an outpouring and communication of an idea. It is, but the idea aspect seems to come from somewhere else. I've often begun a story only to have the characters change into something else and have the story ultimately convey a meaning that didn't even occur to me when I began writing. This, I believe, is the nature of consciousness itself. Our mind and body are simply its vehicle into the material world. Make sense or am I delusional? Now I'm hungry. Time for breakfast.

Not delusional at all. That is why I call this my time. Its the only time I get to let my unconsoius self to come up in the surface and satisfy it a bit :) make sure you eat some mozzarella haha.

I'm in Canada. The Mozzarella here is like eating raw bread dough. We do have good Gouda, though. Ciao.

Fair enough! :) Bon appetite!

It still takes talent to start writing about one thing and end up posting about something else. Some people just don't have this talent. I have a friend who tried to talk about a visit to the pier, and it ended up being NSFW (not safe for work) content...

I think my mozzarella talk was definitely safer than your friend's NSFW!

...yes...i often start in my mind....but when i sit down i end up writing something else. :>

Im not a fan of italian cooking..........since im not a fan of pasta :D I dislike their pizza too....we call it shoe bottom pizza. :D

@ i dont like pasta eitheeer after this trip! I went there on a training and there was no other source of food except the kitchen we had in the building!
